Using our websites
Using our websites
We're always looking for ways to make our websites and online services easier to use. We try to follow the guidelines of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB).
Finding your way around
We design our websites so it's easy for you to find the information you need. If you get stuck, you'll find help pages, site maps and contacts pages in most of our sites.
Even fully sighted people can find reading text on a screen tiring, so we have chosen an easy-to-see web colour scheme and a clear font type and size.
If you use a screen reader
Not everyone uses a traditional browser, so we've designed our sites to work with screen readers. We use text (in ALT tags) to describe images. We’ve included descriptive links so you know where the link takes you, and we don't use frames that are difficult for screen readers and special browsers to interpret.
Change your browser settings
There are many changes you can make to ensure browsing the internet is a better experience. You can change options in your internet browser – such as altering colours, changing text size or using voice activation – to alter the way you see, hear or use a website.
We and AbilityNet have developed an accessibility site explaining these and other accessibility features – useful whether you’re using a mobile device or a computer that runs Windows, Mac OSX, iOS or Android.
Share your ideas on everyday banking
At Barclays, we’re committed to putting our customers at the heart of everything we do. Help us build Your Bank by sharing your ideas and suggestions on what we can do to improve everyday banking.
