Foundation funds

Foundation funds

5 ready-made portfolios from Barclays Wealth, each with a different objective and level of risk. Each fund invests in a mix of cash, bonds, equities and other investment types – this mix drives the potential rewards and the level of risk that the fund takes with your money.

Investing in one of the funds in our Foundation range is simple – you just need to pick the fund that you want, read the product documents and then select apply.

All funds are available inside or outside an ISA.

Barclays Wealth Fund Investor profile/objective
Typical equity exposure:
Global Markets 1 For investors looking for low-risk capital growth, the income generated by this fund can be reinvested. Reinvestment of income is a great way to boost longer term investment returns. 15-25%
Global Markets 2 For cautious investors looking for capital growth, the income generated by the fund can be reinvested. 25-40%
Global Markets 3 This fund is best suited to investors with a balanced or moderate attitude to risk and aims to provide capital growth over the medium to long term. Income can either be paid out or reinvested to enhance growth. 35-55%
Global Markets 4 This fund is best suited to investors looking for capital growth who are comfortable with greater risk than a more balanced investment, with the potential for better returns. 50-65%
Global Markets 5 This fund offers a higher-risk, higher-return solution for investors looking for capital growth. Aims to provide high levels of capital growth over the medium to long term. 55-85%

Remember:
Lower risk is normally linked with lower returns and higher risk tends to offer the greatest rewards. But higher risk investments are at greater risk of making a loss.

The value of these investments and any income they produce can go down as well as up, so you could get back less than you invested. Neither capital nor income is guaranteed.
