Worldwide Travel Insurance including business travel
Each account holder and his/her domestic partner must be under 80 years of age at the start date of any trip. Pre-existing medical conditions are not covered at any time under this policy unless they have been disclosed to and accepted by our Medical Assessment team. All trips must start and end in the UK and last no longer than 31 days
Comprehensive RAC Breakdown cover in the UK and Europe
Includes Roadside, Recovery, At Home, Onward Travel and European cover. Account holder must be with the eligible vehicle when you ask for RAC’s help. No cover for commercial vehicles, trailers, caravans or the cost of parts. European cover is only available to vehicles up to 11 years old.
Airport Lounge Access
Enjoy access to 560 airport lounges worldwide, with up to 6 visits every year, which can be shared with immediate family including children (one adult must be a Barclays Airport Angel member). One membership will be issued for joint account holders and more than 6 visits will be charged at £15 per person per visit. A visit means one entry to an airport lounge per person.
Mobile Phone Insurance
Worldwide cover for your mobile or smartphone against loss, theft, breakdown and accidental damage Up to 2 handsets covered for joint accounts The maximum individual retail cost or value of each mobile phone that can be registered for cover is £1,000 including VAT The policy excess varies depending on the type of mobile phone you are claiming for. Maximum of 2 successful claims per account holder within a 12 month period.
Worldwide cover for tablets, laptops, camcorders, cameras, MP3 players and more. Protection for up to £750 in total against theft, breakdown, accidental and malicious damage. Loss is not covered. Cover starts immediately after registration. The policy excess varies depending on the gadget you are claiming for. The excess is £50 if you are claiming for a laptop or tablet and £25 for all other gadgets.
Lifestyle Management Service
Worldwide service that can organise a wide range of things from entertainment to an electrician. Up to 20 requests in a 12–month period. You will need to pay for the costs of the services arranged by the concierge, eg the cost of a hotel room.
An additional one year's cover on new domestic appliances, on top of the standard one-year manufacturers' warranties, for breakdown caused by accidental damage. Appliances are replaced on a new-for-old basis. Registration within 90 days of purchase required.
Provided you have already registered, if any of your cards are lost or stolen anywhere in the world you can make one phone call and your missing cards will be cancelled immediately and replacements ordered. No cover for unauthorised transactions which your card issuer may hold you liable for.

Fee-free overdraft up to £1,000 (subject to status)
Daily overdraft fees are charged on your overdraft balance. If you go over the fee-free amount, you’ll be charged on the whole balance of your arranged overdraft as follows:
- Up to £1,000 – no fee
- Over £1,000 and up to £2,000 – £1.50 per day
- Over £2,000 – £3 per day
Fee-free overdraft up to £1,000 (subject to application and status) while you stay within that limit. If you use an overdraft of £1,200, you will be charged £1.50 a day when you use it.

Premier Life is available to Personal Banking customers for £25 a month. However our Premier Banking service allows you to access Premier Life for £17.50 a month if you meet the Premier Banking eligibility criteria.

If you are not happy with your account, you have a 14-day period in which to contact us to cancel your account or switch to another account. This period begins on the date your account is opened or the date you receive your terms and conditions and other account information, whichever is the later. If you contact us within this period to cancel or switch your account, we will refund any account fees you may have paid. However, if you cancel or switch your account at a later date, you will not be refunded the account fees that you have paid. If you wish to cancel or switch your account, you should tell us by writing to Barclays, Leicester LE87 2BB.

If we do not resolve your complaint internally to your satisfaction, you may be able to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service at South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR (telephone: 08000 234 567). The Financial Ombudsman Service is an organisation set up by law to give consumers a free and independent service for resolving disputes with financial firms. Details of those who are eligible complainants can be obtained from the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Important information about the Financial Services Compensation Scheme
We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). The FSCS can pay compensation to depositors if a bank is unable to meet its financial obligations. Most depositors – including most individuals and small businesses – are covered by the scheme.
In respect of deposits, an eligible depositor is entitled to claim up to £85,000. For joint accounts each account holder is treated as having a claim in respect of their share so, for a joint account held by two eligible depositors, the maximum amount that could be claimed would be £85,000 each (making a total of £170,000). The £85,000 limit relates to the combined amount in all the eligible depositor’s accounts with the bank, including their share of any joint account, and not to each separate account.

Rates are variable and effective from 2 March 2009. Interest is paid on the 1st working day of the month. Interest is earned on the statement balance of your account.

Bank of England Bank Rate is currently 0.50% and therefore no interest is being paid under the account terms. In the event that Bank of England Bank Rate increases to the extent that credit interest is due and payable under the account terms, the ‘tracking’ interest rates will apply from that time.
