Your account is changing

Your account will become a Barclays Bank Account with Tech and Travel Pack. This means that your account price will change along with some of the features you get.

What’s changed

Some of your account benefits will change – see what’s new with your Barclays Bank Account with Tech Pack and Travel Pack.

You can still manage your money how you want to – online, on your mobile, over the phone or at your nearest branch. Also, if you’re eligible, you can earn rewards and save money with your account.

You have 4 options available to you, so please take the time to decide what you’d like to do before 13 January 2017.

If you're happy with these changes:

If you’re comfortable with the insurance cover under the Tech Pack and the price change, your account will become a Barclays Bank Account with added Tech Pack on 13 January 2017.

If you have an overdraft, the new fee-free amount will apply. Please refer to your Welcome letter for further details on the fee-free amount and the overdraft daily fees that will apply.

If you don’t want to add the Tech Pack and Travel Pack:

Let us know before 12 January 2017 that you don’t want to add the Tech Pack. Your account will still become a Barclays Bank Account – with no monthly account fee – but your insurance benefits will end.

If you have an overdraft, and move to a Barclays Bank Account, your limit won’t change. But, your overdraft limit will not be fee free and daily fees will be charged on the whole balance of your arranged overdraft.

You can change your account in 2 ways: call us on 0800 029 42591 or visit a branch. We’ll change your account straightaway. You can keep your benefits until 13 January 2017, and you can wait until then to tell us If you want to remove the Tech Pack; after it’s added on 13 January 2017 – you won’t have to pay a monthly fee if you let us know by 25 January 2017.

If the Tech Pack isn’t right for you:

You can have a look at our packs to choose the one that suits you most.

If you no longer want your account:

You can close your account without extra charge (after repaying any outstanding overdraft) – but you need to tell us before 12 January 2017.

What’s not included in the Tech and Travel Packs?

For Additions Active account holders, 24-hour Legal & Tax Helpline, Card Secure, Extended Warranty, and Will Writing are not included.

For Additions Plus account holders, 24-hour Legal & Tax Helpline, Card Secure, Extended Warranty, Will Writing, Child Health Insurance, Market Master Stockbroking are not included.

What isn’t changing?

Your sort code, account number and any Direct Debits or standing orders won’t change. Your overdraft limit, if you have one will also remain the same. If you’ve joined Barclays Blue Rewards, you’ll continue to receive your monthly payments from us.

What will my new monthly fee be?

Your monthly fee will change to £18.00. We’ll take first Pack fee will be taken from your account on 1 February 2017.

Do you live outside the UK?

If you’re no longer a resident in the UK, you’re not eligible for many of the insurance benefits our accounts offer. If this applies to you, or you have any questions, call us on 0800 029 42591.

How do I know if Tech Pack is right for me?

It’s important to check from time to time that the cover is still right for you, and that you’re still eligible for the benefits you’re paying for. You can visit our website at any time to see what’s available to you, and what the cover gives you.

Can I change my account today?

Yes. You can call us on 0800 029 42591 and we’ll discuss your options with you. Lines are open between 8am and 6pm (UK time). Call charges

Do I have to re-register for the benefits I already have?

No – we’ll automatically transfer your phone and gadget insurance to your Tech Pack. You may want to take the opportunity to review what benefits are available, and make sure you’re fully registered where needed. Your travel insurance benefits will continue as normal, so you don’t need to contact us unless your circumstances have changed.
