Your account is changing

There’s no monthly fee for your new account and it gives you access to a range of Premier services – plus you can add Packs of benefits to suit your needs.

What your new account offers

When your account changes to a Premier Current Account, your sort code and account number stay the same and gives you access to the following features:

  • Fee-free overdraft – if you already have an overdraft, the first £1,000 will be fee-free. If you don’t have an overdraft, you can apply for one by speaking to a member of your Premier team.

Representative example: Fee-free overdraft up to £1,000 (subject to application and status) while you stay within that limit. If you use an overdraft of £1,200, you'll be charged £1.50 a day when you use it. For more information, please see the ‘overdraft charges and information’ section below

  • Up to £1,000 daily cash machine withdrawals – an exclusive black debit card. Subject to status

Tech Pack

  • Mobile phone insurance – up to 2 phones (sole account) or 4 phones (joint account)
  • Gadget cover – cover up to £1,500

£9.50 per month

Travel Pack

  • Worldwide Travel Insurance 
  • UK and European RAC breakdown cover

Consider your options

Please take some time to read through the information we’ve sent you in your letter, as it tells you all you need to know about the changes to your account and the options available to you. If you’re registered for Online Banking or Barclays Mobile Banking, your letter will be stored in your secure document management service, Cloud It, and can be viewed at any time.

To access your letter online, next time you log into Online Banking, select the down arrow by your name in the top right of the screen and choose ‘My Barclays Documents’ from the ‘My documents and messages’ menu.

If you aren’t registered for Barclays Online Banking, you can also ask a member of you Premier Team on 08009 247 365 (+44 161 869 8012 if you are outside the UK)1 for a copy of the letter. They are also on hand to support you with any questions or queries you may have regarding your new account and Packs.

Questions and answers

What isn’t changing?

Your sort code, account number and any Direct Debits or standing orders won’t change. Your overdraft limit, if you have one will also remain the same, however when your account changes to a Premier Current Account, your first £1,000 will become fee-free. If you’ve joined Barclays Blue Rewards, you’ll continue to receive your monthly payments from us.

What’s changing?

Your account will become a Premier Current Account with Tech Pack and Travel Pack. There are some changes to the features you get with your account, including the price you pay. If you have an arranged overdraft, although your limit won't change, however the fee-free portion of your overdraft will now be £1,000.

Do you live outside the UK?

If you’re no longer a resident in the UK, you’re not eligible for many of the insurance benefits our packs offer. If this applies to you, or you have any questions please call us straightaway on +44 161 869 80121. Lines are open between 8am and 10pm (UK Time).

How do I know if Tech Pack or Travel Pack is right for me?

It’s important to check from time to time that the cover is still right for you, and that you’re still eligible for the benefits you’re paying for. Can I change my account today?

Yes. You can call us on 08009 247 365 (+44 161 869 8012 if you are outside the UK)1 and we’ll discuss your options with you. Lines are open between 8am and 10pm (UK time).

Do I have to re-register for the benefits I already have?

No – we’ll automatically transfer your details to Tech Pack. You may want to take the opportunity to review what benefits are available, and make sure you’re fully registered where needed.
