Logging in to new Online Banking
We've given you more log-in options with new Online Banking so you can pick the one that suits you best.
Choose the details you use to log in – whether it's your membership number, debit card number or sort code & account number.
If you're a PINsentry user, you can set up your own passcode & memorable word. The next time you log in to Online Banking, go to ‘Account services’ in the top blue navigation bar. Then look for the link under ‘Customise my site’.
You can watch our demo to see how easy it is to log in using your own passcode & memorable word.

Logging in with a passcode & memorable word
Now you can use either a PINsentry card reader or set up your own passcode & memorable word to log in. That means you don’t have to carry PINsentry around with you all the time.
A passcode won’t give you access to all of our services, but it will let you:
- See your balances
- Transfer money between your Barclays accounts
- Make payments to people and companies you have paid before through Online Banking
- Make first-time payments to new payees if they appear on our pre-approved list 1
How to order PINsentry if you're not an existing user
Once you've logged in, you can order PINsentry from ‘Account services’ in the top blue navigation bar under ‘Customise my site’.
PINsentry allows you to carry out the full range of Online Banking services, including setting up payments to someone new for the first time.
I've forgotten my log-in details
If you’ve forgotten or lost some of your log-in details, there’s help available on step 1 of the log-in process – just look for the options towards the bottom of the page.
We can give you an immediate reminder of your membership number if you have your debit card to hand. Just complete the short form.
If you don't have your PINsentry card reader you can either
- Use somebody else’s card reader
- Log in with your passcode & memorable word if you’ve previously set this up
- Order an additional or replacement PINsentry card reader by calling the Online Banking Helpdesk on 0845 600 2323 2
You can reset your passcode by completing a simple form, but for security reasons we will post a new one to you.
If you can’t access the service and need to do your banking, visit a branch or call Telephone Banking (if you’re registered) on 0845 755 5555 2.
