Lost or stolen debit card

We understand that sinking feeling you get when your card is lost or stolen. So we make reporting, cancelling and replacing your card as stress-free as possible, which is why we'll get you a new debit card within 2 working days 1.

In an emergency you can also pick up a new card in branch on the same day 3.

And now you can just log in to your Barclays Mobile Banking app and report your lost or stolen card.

How to contact us about lost and stolen cards

First up, don’t delay. Get in touch with us as quickly as possible if you think your bank cards have been lost or stolen so we can sort the problem for you. Call us on 08700 104 503 1 (outside the UK dial +44 1928 584421) – the team is available 24 hours a day.

To make it quicker and easier to report a lost or stolen card, you can now do it directly through your app. Once you tell us, we’ll cancel your lost or stolen card straightaway.

We can cancel your cards to stop thieves and fraudsters spending your hard-earned cash. We’ll also get replacement debit cards sent out and they should arrive in 2 working days. For example, a debit card ordered on Monday will be received by first class post on Wednesday. A debit card ordered on Friday will be received on Monday morning by first class post.

Give us a call on 08457 555 555 if:

  • You think someone has discovered your PIN
  • You've ordered a new PIN and it’s not arrived within 3 working days

If you have Barclays Cardholder Protection you can call 0808 100 66 67 (outside the UK dial +44 1904 544 666) to report lost or stolen cards. The line is open 24 hours a day and UK calls are free. You can reverse charges outside the UK.

Something to look out for
Even after you've reported your cards lost or stolen, keep an eye on your accounts for debit or credit card fraud. If you spot any transactions you don't recognise, let us know about them as soon as possible by contacting your branch or Telephone Banking if you're registered.

Sometimes you can’t wait 2 working days for a replacement card. If you need your card straightaway, we now offer an instant debit card replacement service 3 while you wait in any of our 267 select branches. That means you’ll never be more than an hour’s drive away from a replacement card †.

1. Debit cards will be delivered to the address we hold on record for your account in 2 working days, dependent on Standard Royal Mail first class delivery to UK mainland customers. This service does not include credit cards. Requests involving a new PIN will take an extra day.
2. To maintain a quality service, we may monitor and record phone calls. Read call charges
3. Instant debit card replacement T&Cs: This service cannot be offered if your account has been open for less than 30 days. It’s available for replacement cards only – not for new customers or new accounts. We can only issue replacement debit cards – not cash cards, credit cards or savings cards. Replacement cards issued in branch will have a new card number. If you have a personalised debit card, we’re not able to print your picture so you’ll receive a standard debit card. You must know your PIN as you’ll be asked to use this once the card has been printed, as a security measure. Replacement debit cards are free. Additional identification or photo ID is not required when using the instant replacement service.
