You will soon be able to make Same Day Domestic Payments using Barclays Online Banking, saving you time and giving you more control over how you manage your money.
This Online Banking service has been one of your more popular requests and we’re delighted to introduce it.
Overview
When is this happening?
The new secure online payment service will be gradually introduced to Online Banking shortly. It's a fast, secure way of making a payment to a UK bank account that’s guaranteed to arrive on the same day if you've met the cut-off times.
Who can use the service?
If you’re registered for Barclays Online Banking and use PINsentry, you can use our fast and efficient online Same Day Domestic Payment service.
If you like, you can save the beneficiary details of any payment you make, making it even easier if you need to send money to the same person in the future.

Information & charges
Cut-off time
The daily cut-off time is 2:30pm for online Same Day Domestic Payments. This service enables your payments to reach the beneficiary on the same day.
If your payment is not urgent, is destined for another bank in the UK and is under £10,000, you can still use our other payment services – some of which are free of charge.
What you’ll need
To send money to a UK bank account, you’ll need to give us accurate information about the person or company receiving the money. You may need to provide some or all of the following:
- Sort code
- Bank account number
- Full name
- Bank address
Charges
There is a charge of £25 for the online Same Day Domestic Payments (CHAPS) service.
Same-day payments to other Barclays accounts use the Barclays Transfer system, not CHAPS, but still incur a fee of £25 for the same-day service.
Daily limits
Online payments daily transaction limits:
Personal: £10,000
Premier: £30,000
Business: £50,000
