Is motorcycling covered?
Yes. Our Accidental Death Plan covers you if you're involved in an accident that causes death while riding a motorbike. However, all benefits paid are halved.
Are hazardous activities covered?
Yes.
Is riding a jet ski covered?
Yes.
Does the policy cover children?
Yes. It offers a benefit for insured children of £7,500 irrespective of your level of cover.
My children do not live with me but can I cover them under my policy?
Yes.
Do the rates go up as I get older?
No.
To whom are the benefits of the plan paid?
The injured person's legal representative or executor. In the case of a child the benefit will be paid to the policyholder. Inheritance tax may be payable in the event of a claim being paid.
When does my cover begin?
Once processed, your cover will be effective immediately.
Is the Accidental Death Plan an income replacement policy?
No. It provides a lump sum cash benefit if you die as a result of an accident.
There are some things that our Accidental Death Plan doesn't cover. The full list of excusions and benefit limitations is included in the policy document. The following are significant excusions or limitations:
- Benefits for children are £7,500, irrespective of the level of cover chosen
- Benefits for injuries sustained while riding a motorcycle will be reduced by 50%
No benefits will be payable:
- If the accident occurs in a country where a state of war exists (declared or not) if the accident was the direct consequence of the war
- While you are flying unless you are a fare-paying passenger
- If you take a drug or drugs
- If the accident occurs while driving or in charge of a vehicle and your blood/urine alcohol level is above legal limits stated in the laws of the country where the accident occurs
- If you commit suicide
- If your injuries are sustained while you are directly involved in an unlawful act
- If you deliberately or recklessly expose yourself to danger
- If it results from sickness or disease
