More women are beating cancer every year
While this is great news, beating cancer can be a struggle that has physical, emotional and financial consequences. Every year thousands of women are diagnosed with female-specific cancers. According to Cancer Research UK, breast cancer alone accounts for over 45,500 1 new cases each year.

If you were diagnosed with cancer, it’s likely that you’d be faced with all kinds of worries. How are you going to cope financially if you need to take time off work for treatment and rest?

  • £25,000 cash payout upon diagnosis of a female-specific cancer or carcinoma in situ (an early or non-invasive form of cancer) of the breast
  • Some early stage cancers covered by the policy can usually be easily treated as a day case, such as carcinoma in situ, in which case the benefit payable would be £1,000
  • Access to the WellWoman Care Advisory Service

It’s important that any insurance policy you choose is right for your needs. that’s why you need to understand what you’re not covered for to ensure that Barclays Income Insurance is the right product for you.

No benefit will be payable

  • If you are diagnosed as having cancer within the 90 days immediately following your effective date
  • If you get medical advice, have symptoms (or tests) or receive any medication or treatment for cancer within 90 days immediately following your effective date

The above exclusions do not apply to the hospitalisation benefit.

  • For a cancer for which you claim if you have previously been diagnosed with this cancer – we will not be able to cover you for the same cancer
  • For any tumours that are histologically (the study of tissues and cells under a microscope) described as:
    • Pre-malignant (cells that have not yet turned to cancer) or
    • In relation to cancer 1, non-invasive (cells that remain in the original tissue where they were formed)
  • For any cancer directly or indirectly caused by any pre-existing condition
  • Based on a diagnosis made by a qualified medical consultant who is an insured person or a member of the insured person’s family

The cover is optional and you do not need to have any other Barclays products to be able to apply. You must be aged 18 – 69, a resident in the UK and employed or self -employed to apply online.

    If you are concerned about the availability of cancer drugs and treatments where you live, it may be good to know that you could have £25,000 to fall back on should you be diagnosed with a covered cancer.
