As long as you are 18 or over and the following statements are true, you can complete a Barclays home contents insurance quote online.
The property to be insured:
- Is your main residence and you don’t let or rent it out in any way
- Isn’t a listed building
- Has a maximum of five bedrooms
- Is in good repair with no past subsidence or underpinning and is of standard construction (ie brick, stone or concrete and roofed with tile or slate)
- Has no special exposure to flood or storm damage
- Isn’t used for business, except for home/office work that requires no employees or visitors
- Is not left unoccupied for more than 40 consecutive days a year
You and anyone you usually live with:
- Have no more than £50,000 of contents or £10,000 of valuables
- Has never had any criminal convictions, police cautions or have any prosecutions pending
- Haven’t suffered a loss or incident in the last four years (except for one claim under £250), whether or not you were insured
- Are not a childminder, professional entertainer, musician, professional sportsperson or trainer, jewellery or antique dealer or student.

- Your last five years' claims history

1. This offer is open to new policyholders only and may be withdrawn or amended at any time. Quotes must be obtained by 31st December 2010 and are valid for 90 days. Monthly payers will make no payments in the final three months of the policy and annual payers will pay a reduced price up-front.

3. Cancellation and switching fees terms and conditions. Many home insurance customers have to pay a cancellation fee if they want to switch insurers mid way through their policy life time. To help customers to switch to Barclays, we offer up to £25 towards any cancellation fee they might have to pay to their existing insurer. To qualify for this the customers must: Purchase a Barclays Home Insurance Policy (either single or combined cover), cancel their previous home insurance policy and pay their insurer's cancellation fee. Send proof of fee payment to Barclays Customer Service Centre, PO Box 7463, Perth, PH2 0YX. Upon receipt, Barclays Insurance Services will dispatch a cheque (typically within five days) to the customer for the value of their cancellation fee, up to a maximum of £25.
