Taking international payments
If you’re engaged in overseas trade on a regular basis, you want to make it as easy as possible for your trading partners to supply you with payment.
Direct Bank Transfer
International bank transfers are a speedy and secure way of getting paid. Funds are deposited directly into your account and cleared as soon as the payment arrives, in just the same way as a UK transfer. You can be paid in sterling or any other currency.
Foreign Currency Cheques
If you receive foreign currency cheques drawn on an overseas bank, these can be cleared in 2 ways:
Negotiation service
Our negotiation service helps you maintain your cashflow by letting you access the funds before they clear, up to a pre-negotiated limit, with interest being applied until the cheque clears.
Collections service
Our collections service can take up to 6 weeks for payments to clear as your money will only be cleared to your account once we’ve received the funds from the overseas bank.
The Negotiation service is available subject to credit approval. If the cheque is returned unpaid, the value will be debited from your account. Additional charges apply to these services.
