To apply for a Graduate Loan, you must:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Not be in temporary employment
- Not be intending to continue full-time study
As long as you meet the above criteria, you can apply for a Graduate Loan:
- Up to two years after you graduate (up to 25 June in the second year following your graduation) provided you have completed your course and are currently employed
Applications for Graduate Loans must be made in branch. You'll need to bring the following documentation:
- Written confirmation of the qualification you obtained, such as a degree certificate, letter from university or an official results letter.
- Proof of permanent employment, either part-time or full-time (minimum six-month contract with at least three months remaining). Self-employed? If you're a subcontractor, please bring evidence that you have guaranteed work for at least six months. If you're not subcontracting, please bring evidence of your income for at least the last six months
- Your bank statements for the last three months if you're new to Barclays or hold your main bank account elsewhere

Interest charging information
Once agreed, the interest rate is fixed for the life of your loan. Interest will be calculated on the amount of loan outstanding each day and debited to your loan account quarterly in arrears.
Repayment information
Payment is by monthly standing order. First monthly repayment is due one month after the date the loan has been opened. An optional three month repayment holiday at the beginning of the loan is available, interest will be charged during that period.
Where the three month repayment holiday has been taken the first monthly repayment is due four months after the date the loan has been opened.
Repayment period
Loans are available between six months and five years (six, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54 or 60 monthly repayments). Additionally for loans of £5,000 and above terms up to 7 years are available (66, 72, 78 or 84 monthly repayments). By spreading your loan over a longer term, your monthly repayments may be lower, but the overall cost of borrowing may be higher.
