Accessible services for customers with hearing or speech impairments
We want to provide the right kind of help at the right time, including in-branch communications aids and interpreters for more complex financial discussions. We're always developing and improving our range of services for hearing impaired customers.

In branch
All our branches have at least one hearing induction loop at the counter that acts as a transmitter for hearing aid users, and a portable induction loop for conversations away from the counter.
Some products are more complex than others, so we can provide professional sign language interpreters to help sign language users with more in-depth discussions. This service is free but we do need to know in advance -just contact the branch.
Using the phone
You can call us using a Textphone (an adapted telephone with a display screen and keypad) to enable you to 'type' your conversation. You can use any of the numbers on this website by dialing 18001 and then the normal telephone number.
For example, to call the Barclays Information Line, you would dial 18001 0800 400 100. When the call is answered, a Typetalk operator joins in to help you. The Typetalk service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. More on Typetalk and Text Direct
