Variable Rate Mortgage
This mortgage offers a discounted rate which is fixed for the first year. On each anniversary your interest rate and monthly payments will be recalculated based on the 12 month Euribor rate plus a margin and fixed for the following year. This process will be repeated on an annual basis. You will have the ability to change your mortgage to a Fixed rate mortgage on any anniversary with 1 month’s prior notice.
LOAN AMOUNT:
- Minimum loan amount 46,000 euros
- No maximum amount
- You can borrow up to 80% of the value or the purchase price (whichever is lower)

- 1st year fixed rate of 5.50%* followed by a variable rate of 12 month Euribor + 1.15%

CHARGES:
- No full or partial early repayment charges if you repay on the exact anniversary date otherwise there is a 1% charge for partial or full repayment applied to the outstanding capital before repayment
- 1% application fee
- No valuation fee as Barclays France does not require a valuation for properties under 1 million euros. However, we recommend you seek a valuation for your own piece of mind.

Mortgage loan applications are subject to the approval of the bank. If the sale is subject to securing a loan that is regulated by the French Consumer Law, the preliminary sales agreement will stipulate a date by which a mortgage sanction should be obtained : if a complete application has been submitted to the bank in a timely manner and refused the vendor is legally obliged to refund all monies paid in advance.
Once an offer is issued, the customer must respect a cooling off period of 10 days before accepting and signing the offer.
