Super Mortgage for UK customers

This mortgage is designed for people wishing to purchase a property or re-mortgage an existing property in Spain. An Interest Only option is available for up to 5 years for mortgages over 100,000 euros. The mortgage must be repaid in full by the end of the term.

LOAN AMOUNT:

  • Minimum loan amount 100,000 euros
  • Maximum loan amount 500,000 euros
  • You can borrow up to 60% of the appraised value of the property, but never more than the purchase price.

TERM:

  • No minimum term
  • Maximum term 30 years

INTEREST RATE:

  • Rate of 5.74%

Based on 12 month EURIBOR 4.994% + 0.75%. Rates published 23/06/08* TAE 5.35%**

COMPULSORY PRODUCTS:

There are no compulsory products with this mortgage but please refer to 'Current accounts and Everyday Banking' section to see our other supplementary benefits (e.g. local bank account, insurance and savings).

CHARGES:

  • 1% arrangement fee on the loan amount (minimum of 600 euros). There is a 0.25% reduction for existing customers of Barclays in the UK.
  • No early repayment charge for partial early repayment of the loan.
  • 0.5% charge of full early repayment of the loan during the 1st 5 years of the mortgage.
  • 0.25% charge on full early repayment of the loan after the 1st 5 years of the mortgage.

CONDITIONS:

  • Applicants purchasing for investment purposes only i.e. buying to let will not be considered for this product. Please refer to the 'Buy to let' mortgage which has been designed for this purpose.
  • If for any reason you feel that our standard product is not suitable for you, then we may still be able to help you. For example:
    • If you need to borrow a little more against your income
    • You want to borrow in sterling, or another major currency
    • You want finance to build a property on land you already own
    • You want a mortgage for longer than the term of this product
    • You require an Interest only option but the valuation is less than 450,000 euros
    • You simply want to borrow less than 200,000 euros
