Money
As well as a competitive salary, we offer an annual discretionary bonus - the amount you receive depends on how you perform as an individual and how well we all do as a team. We also have a range of recognition schemes where you could win a generous gift or even a holiday.

When it comes to investing money, we can offer efficiencies savings on tax and NI savings or up to a 20% discount on the price of Barclays shares through one of our share plans. These include Sharepurchase and Sharesave, the monthly saving plans, which help you make the most of your earnings.

And, for those of you with children, we offer a childcare savings scheme. Our award-winning Afterwork pension scheme, meanwhile, is designed to give you peace of mind in retirement.

Flexibility
We appreciate that not everyone wants to work 9-5, five days a week. This is why we try to be flexible when it comes to your schedule.

Options we may be able to offer include part-time working (and possibly a compressed working week - the same hours over fewer days), job-sharing and a nine day fortnight. If you're having a baby, or adopting a child, you may be entitled to take up to 52 weeks leave, giving you plenty of quality time to spend with them and organise childcare before you return.

You may also want to take advantage of our Childcare Vouchers Scheme which allows you to save on the cost of your childcare arrangements. Or, if in the unfortunate event that someone in your family becomes ill, you may have the opportunity to take a Responsibility Break in the form of unpaid leave or a reduction in your hours for up to six months to look after them.

Plus there are our other benefits of compassionate leave, career breaks, special leave and up to 30 days holiday; allowing you plenty of time for yourself.

And, if you are looking for general health advice, the Health at Hand service gives access to a team of healthcare professionals over the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Plus our employee assistance programme offers free and confidential advice on work or home worries, family, childcare or money problems, bereavement or stress. Community
Barclays provides you with a variety of different ways you can contribute to your community at work or at home. Whether it's through charity or volunteer work, Barclays clubs and societies give you a chance to make a real difference.

Our Employee Networks (Cultural Diversity for employees from ethnic minorities, Pos+Ability for colleagues with disabilities, and Spectrum for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees) give all of our employees the opportunity to explore their interests and develop their understanding of diversity issues.

If you've got a good idea to help your local community but can't get the finance to see it through, we may be able to help with a grant of up to £500. Or, if you raise money for charity by yourself, we will match the value raised by a maximum of £750, up to three times per year.

We will also take any donations to charity from your pre-tax pay, increasing the value of your contributions, and then match your donation from a special fund of £500,000.

And, if you've ever wanted to volunteer, we will give you up to two days a year paid leave to do work for a charity or your local community. So, working for Barclays can benefit a lot more people than you'd imagine.
