UK Banking
UK Banking offers a comprehensive range of financial products both to personal customers and to businesses of all sizes. We provide our services through a variety of channels that includes the branch network, cash machines, telephone banking, online banking and dedicated relationship managers.
In UK Retail Banking we have 14 million retail customers who come to us for current accounts, savings, mortgages, and general insurance. Our UK Premier team provides banking, investment products and advice to 280,000 affluent customers while, elsewhere in UK Retail Banking, we also look after the varied financial needs of 580,000 Small Business customers.
UK Business Banking provides relationship banking to larger and medium-sized businesses. We serve our 180,000 customers through a UK-wide network of relationship and industry sector specialist managers.
The Woolwich also falls into UK Banking - we bought Woolwich in October 2000 to help boost our mortgage business.
All of the divisions with UK Banking work closely with other businesses in the Group, so that we can offer an even broader service to our customers.

Personal Customers
Personal Customers is made up of Barclays and Woolwich and provides a wide range of products and services to 14 million personal customers in the UK. Customers can access Barclays in a number of different ways, including via more than 2,000 branches, 3,900 ATMs, the Internet and the telephone.
Premier Banking
Premier Banking provides a personalised banking, investment and financial planning service to affluent customers, typically people with a gross annual income of at least £100,000, or with savings and investments of more than £50,000. Premier Banking was set up in 1994, and enables customers to discuss their financial needs with a fully trained professional Premier Relationship Manager.
Barclays Small Business customers include start-ups, sole traders, partnerships, limited companies franchises, clubs, associations and charities. They can be anything from a window-cleaner to a corner shop, a market trader to a rock musician.
These customers have full access to a range of financial support, services and expert advice. We have around 700,000 Small Business customers whose total annual sales in a year (turnover) amount to £500,000 or less.
Contact Centres
Our seven contact centres dispersed throughout the UK handle an amazing 5 million calls per month. Both telephony and online services are delivered by the Contact Centres, allowing customers to manage their finances from anywhere in the world. Our team of 5,750 advisors, team leaders and specialists look after our customers 365 days of the year and also generate large numbers of sales and leads.
Medium Business & Agriculture
Our customers are businesses with annual sales turnover of between approximately £500,000 and £10million. We currently support over 75,000 medium-sized businesses in the UK. We have 50 local teams across the UK, plus industry specialists such as Education, General Practitioners, Solicitors, Media, International Business and Retail.
Larger Business
Larger Business provides both day-to-day and strategic banking services to 8000 companies with a turnover generally in excess of £15 million. The size of our customers in this area means that many of them of are household names.
Asset & Sales Finance
Barclays Asset and Sales Finance provide tailored funding facilities to all segments of the corporate market - our customers range from sole traders to multi-nationals.
Our 1,100 staff handle everything from marketing, sales and risk through to operations, finance and IT.
UK Banking Risk
Risk Management is a vital part of our business responsible for ensuring that the bank is making safe and profitable lending decisions and for providing support in monitoring the credit that we give to our customers. Our team of more than 1,000 qualified experts works closely with all stakeholders in UK Banking, particularly our relationship managers.
