Barclays
What to Expect When You Apply
Getting started
Before you begin a career with Barclays you'll need to go through what we call 'the recruitment process'. The way you are selected will depend on the type of role you've applied for, but will generally consist of an interview and one or two practical exercises. But, there's no need to worry. Simply think about the job you want to do, what it involves, and what skills and experience you have that show you can do it. You'll need to show an understanding of what is required in the role, as well as being able to discuss why you want to do it. And, for the practical exercises, we may ask you to do something in a group. All you really need to do is to think about any experience you've had to date, it could be a Saturday job, a project or even being part of a sports team. Anything team based that could transfer to the workplace.
Whatever you're asked to do, we'll do our best to put you at ease, and we make sure we're fair by basing our decisions on what we observe and hear at the event rather than personal opinions. Just relax, and do the best that you can.
