Open For Business

At Barclays Commercial Bank we specialise in working with businesses (with a turnover from £1 million to £1 billion) to ensure they have the banking support they need to move their business forward. Our Turning the Corner website, which has attracted over 50,000 visits, is one way in which we support business. We provide access to a range of resources including business guides, expert articles, video interviews and Connecting Business events. We have held 12 Connecting Business events across the UK in 2009 with more than 2500 attendees and 357 companies exhibiting at the trade fairs.

In these challenging conditions we are very much open for business and committed to working with sustainable businesses to ensure they emerge from the downturn stronger and better.

Our track record of responsible lending means that we have been able to continue lending this year despite market volatility. We continue to lend to 54,000 customers and have delivered £11bn of new term loans between January and September 2009. Here are a few examples of how we have delivered for businesses this year.
