Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a Staff Marker on my current account?

It shows us that you are exempt from the requirement to pay in £1,000 per month.

How do I check I have a Staff Marker?

If you already have a Barclays current account you can check your Staff Marker when you apply for the Barclays Regular Saver. If you do not have a Staff Marker, the branch staff will be able to apply one for you.

If I don't already have a Barclays current account, can I open a Barclays Regular Saver?

Yes, but you must first open a Barclays current account and mandate your Barclays salary or pension to it. To do this, simply visit your local Barclays branch with a copy of your payslip, joining letter (for new starters) or a copy of your annual pension advice statement.

What happens if I don't mandate my Barclays salary or pension for the required 12 months?

If you stop mandating your Barclays salary or pension to your Barclays current account, you will only get interest at the same variable gross rate as the 'Easy Saver' product. This will apply to the whole of your interest for the 12 months, regardless of when you stopped the mandate. The interest is paid at the end of the 12 months. Please see point 13.1 of the Terms and Conditions.

When will I receive interest on my Regular Saver?

Interest is paid at the end of the 12-month term on the Regular Saver.

In the Terms and Conditions, it states that 'you will not be eligible for the Barclays Regular Saver where you are also participating in any other Barclays current account offer'. I have just opened a Barclays current account with the 0% Switcher New to Bank promotion, can I also have a Barclays Regular Saver?

If you opened your account on or after 14 February 2006, you can only take advantage of one of the promotions, either the 0% Switcher promotion or a Barclays Regular Saver.

If I have the 10-10-10 Additions Plus Promotion, can I also have a Barclays Regular Saver?
