Term cover is a form of life assurance that runs for a pre–agreed length of time. As such, it could be the answer if you’re looking to protect mortgage repayments.

If the policy holder dies during the term, a tax–free lump sum is paid out. If not, the cover ends and no payment is made. For this reason, premiums tend to be cheaper than those for whole of life cover, which guarantees the payment of a lump sum.
