How to make a claim

 

To make a claim just give us a call (you'll find the number on your policy summary) and we'll send you a claim form with a freepost envelope to return it in. Once complete, just pop the form and the death certificate in the envelope and send it back to us.

If we need any further medical evidence we'll let you know who we've written to and we'll keep you regularly updated on the progress of your claim. We'll cover the cost of any additional reports we need.

Is motorcycling covered?
Yes. Our Accidental Death Plan does cover you if you're involved in an accident that causes death while riding a motorbike. However, all benefits paid as a result of a motorbike accident are halved.

Are hazardous activities accidents covered?
Yes.

Is riding a Jet Ski covered?
Yes.

My children do not live with me, but can I cover them under my policy?
Yes.

Does the policy cover children?
Yes. Our Accidental Death Plan offers a benefit for insured children of £7,500 irrespective of your level of cover.

What isn't covered

No benefit will be paid for death resulting from:

  • Sickness or disease
  • An accident which occurs whilst you are driving a vehicle and your blood/urine alcohol level is above the legal limit stated in the laws of the country where the accident occurs
  • You deliberately or recklessly exposing yourself to danger
  • An accident that occurs in a country where a state of war exists (declared or not) if the accident was the direct consequence of the war
  • While you are flying; unless you are a fare-paying passenger
  • You taking a drug or drugs other than according to the manufacturer's instructions or taken as prescribed by a registered medical practitioner
  • You taking a drug or drugs for the treatment of drug addiction
  • You committing suicide
  • Your bodily injury being sustained whilst directly involved in an unlawful act

Do the rates go up as I get older?
No, your rate doesn't increase because of your age.

To whom are the benefits of the plan paid?
All the benefits are paid to the injured person's legal representative or executor. In the case of a child the benefit will be paid to the policyholder. Inheritance tax may be payable in the event of a claim being paid.

When does my cover begin?
Once processed, your cover will be effective immediately.

Is Accidental Death the same as Life Insurance?
No. Accidental Death Plan covers you for death resulting from an accident

Is the Accidental Death Plan an income replacement policy?
No. Accidental Death Plan provides a lump sum cash benefit if you were to die as result of an accident.
