Community Account

Convenient, simple banking for small not-for-profit organisations

Free, everyday banking for small not-for-profit organisations – smart, sensible support that gives you the freedom to put your resources back into helping and supporting your community.

We know the coronavirus situation is a worry right now, and we’re committed to supporting you and your business through this difficult time.

We’re receiving lots of business current cccount applications at the moment, so it’s taking us up to six weeks to process them. With that in mind, please only apply if it can’t wait, so we can focus on the businesses that need us most.

Thanks for your patience and understanding while we try to help everyone as quickly as possible.

Why choose Barclays?

Free, everyday banking

A Community Account could give your not-for-profit organisation a head start with free, everyday banking and a no maintenance fee. Easy, accessible banking and support combined with innovative ideas, give you and your members the easiest, newest ways to bank.

Barclays Service guarantee

We aim to resolve any queries you have straight away – but if we can’t, we’ll give you a named contact who’ll take personal responsibility for resolving your query. They’ll keep you informed until we’ve sorted it out.

Everyday banking to suit you – online, in our app, on the phone or in branch.

Pingit Giving

When you open your Community Account, we’ll show you how to register for Pingit Giving. It allows the public to create personalised fundraising pages in their Pingit app for your charitable organisation. All funds raised through Pingit Giving go straight to your organisation – and with Pingit Giving only taking 1% of all donations made, you could benefit from some of the lowest fees in the market.

LifeSkills is all about helping young people prepare for the workplace. We’ve created a suite of activities, exercises and lesson plans that your club or charitable organisation can download and run with your youth group.

Digital Eagles

Build your internet skills with us. Our Digital Eagles are on-hand to help you get the most out of online banking and electronic payments, with educational material and events tailored to the specific needs of your not-for-profit organisation.

Our eligibility criteria broadly align with the definitions of charitable organisations set out in the Charities Act 2011. This allows us to provide more support to the not-for-profit organisations that need us the most.

What does the account offer?

  • Free everyday banking for as long as you continue to meet our eligibility criteria
  • Authorise up to three individuals as signatories on the account
  • Access to our free, best-in-class Online Banking services and the Barclays app
  • Up to six debit cards and a cheque book

Who’s eligible for a Community Account?
