Community Account

Convenient, simple banking for small not-for-profit organisations

Free, everyday banking for small not-for-profit organisations – smart, sensible support that gives you the freedom to put your resources back into helping and supporting your community.

Due to extraordinary demand, we’re not accepting Community Account applications from those looking to switch their banking services at the moment – we’re sorry about this.

If you don’t have an existing bank account, we’re happy to help, however please note that you’ll only be able to open one Community Account and you may have to wait up to four weeks for an appointment with one of our small business managers. This is to make sure we can help as many clubs, associations, charities and societies as possible, get started.

Our eligibility criteria broadly align with the definitions of charitable organisations set out in the Charities Act 2011. This allows us to provide more support to the not-for-profit organisations that need us the most.

  • Authorise up to three individuals as signatories on the account

Who’s eligible for a Community Account?

If your organisation is a not-for-profit with a charitable purpose and an annual turnover of less than £100,000, you might be eligible – use the tool below to check.

You’ll also need a valid UK mobile number, a valid email address, and your organisation must have three officials or fewer.
