About this service
Terms and conditions for switching your broadband, TV and home phone with SmartSpend Simplifydigital.
These legal terms are between you, the customer, and us, Barclays Bank plc. The legal terms apply to your use of the Simplifydigital website "the Website”.
Who can use Simplifydigital?
To benefit from switches made through Simplifydigital, you must be at least 18 years old and have an eligible account with Barclays. You must also be a Barclays Online Banking customer.
You will not be eligible for cashback if you are purchasing Freeview or Freesat set-top box via the Website, even if you go through Barclays Online Banking and Barclays Mobile Banking. You will be able to make switches or purchases for personal use only.
How it works
Every time you access the Website through Barclays Online Banking or Barclays Mobile Banking, a cookie will be applied to your purchase so that we know that you’ve accessed the Website directly through Barclays Online Banking and Barclays Mobile Banking and that you will be eligible for cashback.
You will be subject to your chosen provider’s terms and conditions, so please check these for details on cancellation policies.
Barclays will earn commission from any cashback-eligible switch or purchase you make, but this will always be less than the amount of cashback being paid to you.
How your cashback will be paid
After your switch or purchase has been confirmed, your cashback will be paid to you. This can take up to 48 working days; however, if you cancel any eligible switches or purchases then cashback will not be paid.
Unless you tell us otherwise, the account into which cashback is paid will be, in order of priority, the following eligible accounts: your personal current account, personal savings account, joint current account, joint savings account, business current account, and business deposit account. If you are a Barclays Blue Rewards customer then your cashback will be paid into your Rewards Wallet.
We reserve the right to reclaim or make balance adjustments accordingly where it has been established that any cashback has been applied or calculated in error. We reserve the right to withhold or reclaim any cashback we believe has been obtained fraudulently.
How you will be notified that your cashback has been paid
Where you have provided us with your mobile number, we will send you an SMS alert to let you know that your cashback has been paid into your account. If we do not have your mobile number and we have your email address, we will send you an alert by email instead. To opt out of this service you can go to your local branch or contact us on 03457 345345.
By accepting these terms and conditions, you agree that Simplifydigital may contact you from time to time with marketing messages. These marketing messages will only relate to Simplifydigital who will contact you by email.
You will receive a welcome email from Simplifydigital the first time you use the Website and this will include instructions on how to stop receiving marketing emails from Simplifydigital.
Third party websites
Although you can access third party websites through SmartSpend and the Website, such links are not an endorsement by us of any products or services found in such websites. You use such links entirely at your own risk and we accept no responsibility or liability for the content, use, availability or purchases made through such websites. We have not verified the truth or accuracy of any content of third party websites.
Sharing your information
When you choose to transfer from Barclays Online Banking or Barclays Mobile Banking to the Website for the first time, we will disclose your name, postcode, email address, and whether you are a Personal, Premier and / or Business customer, to help Simplifydigital to identify the best available tariffs for your area, to help you to complete the switching process more easily by pre-populating your details on any applicable forms, and to ensure that your experience on the Website is relevant. Each time you access the Website we will update Simplifydigital with your current details. This information is drawn from records that we already hold about you and your account.
Simplifydigital will also share details with us about the way you use the Website so that we can update your SmartSpend savings profile on Barclays Online Banking and continue to offer you products and services that are relevant.
Please read through these Terms. We can change these Terms, or any cashback offer, at any time without prior notice although any changes will not apply to switches or purchases that you have already made through Barclays Online Banking and Barclays Mobile Banking prior to the changes coming into effect. Any changes we make to these Terms will be available to view on the SmartSpend section of Barclays Online Banking or Barclays Mobile Banking. By using the Website, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. You should save and/or print a copy of these Terms for future reference.
If any term, condition, or provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, the validity and enforceability of the remaining terms, conditions and provisions shall not in any way be affected or invalidated.
If we don’t exercise rights that we have against you straight away, we can still do so later.
English law applies to these Terms and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
