How can I set up, cancel or amend a direct debit?

You can set up, change or cancel a Direct Debit in the Barclaycard app. If you only have a Barclaycard with us, just select ‘Pay Options’ – if you manage your current account in your app, this will be labelled ‘Pay & Transfer’ instead. Then choose ‘Barclaycard Direct Debit’ to manage your payment.

To set up a Direct Debit, you'll need the bank name, account number, and sort code of the account you're paying from. You must be the account holder and the only person required to authorise debits from the account.

If you want to set up a Direct Debit from a joint account, you'll need to send us a paper mandate with both account signatories. This can be downloaded from Barclaycard.

Once you've requested the Direct Debit, it will take up to 10 days to be activated. As soon as it is, we'll send you a letter to confirm. Please ensure you make any payments that are due before then.
