SWIFT code

A SWIFT code (or SWIFTBIC, as it’s sometimes known) helps overseas banks identify which bank to send money to. You might be asked for the Barclays SWIFT code when someone wants to send you a payment.

The Barclays UK SWIFT code is BUKBGB22

You might also see three extra numbers added to represent a specific branch. SWIFT codes can be 8 or 11 digits long. If you’re asked for an 11 digit code, type XXX at the end of the 8 digit Barclays UK SWIFT code.
