What type of data will be shared with Barclays?

Along with the other banks involved, we’ve opened our APIs to share current account data.

An API is a secure way for an app or website to communicate – in this case, with other banks or providers.
This’ll allow you to give your permission to share this data with other registered banks or providers. We’ll request the following data as part of the Open Banking function:

  • Your account balance
  • Your transaction history for the last 2 years
  • The type of account you have
  • In the future we reserve the right to request Payee details from your chosen bank or provider
