How can my customers pay me with Pingit?
As long as you have a business current account with a UK bank, your customers can pay you using Pingit, if they’re registered.
Having Pingit provides customers with easier, faster ways to pay.
By mobile phone number:
If you give your customers your mobile phone number, they can simply type it in to the Pingit ‘Pay’ screen or find it in their contacts.
If you don’t want to give out your phone number, there are a number of other ways for customers to pay you through Pingit.
By short code (Barclays Business customers only):
You’ll be given a short code when you register for Pingit, which you can give to customers to use to make a payment to you. You can view your short code at any time in the 'Settings' section of the app. If you can’t see this, you should download the latest version of the app.
By QR Code (Barclays Business customers only):
QR (Quick Response) Codes are square barcodes that give your customers an easier way to pay. Your QR Code contains all the information that you need to get paid. Your customers scan your QR Code with their mobile and Pingit does the rest. Create your QR Code.
Business Directory (Barclays Business customers only):
Customers can find, contact and pay you – all with the Pingit Business Directory, which is part of the app. You can add your details to the directory within the ‘Settings’ section.
Request a Payment:
You can request customers to pay you a certain amount using the ‘Request’ button at the bottom right of the screen. Enter the mobile number of the person or business that you want to be paid by, enter the amount and press 'Request'.
If you have a Barclays Business current account, when you receive a payment, your business name will be shown to the person who sent you the money.
If you don't bank with Barclays, the full name you provide when you register for Barclays Pingit will be shown.
