Contents insurance for tenants

Cover while you’re renting

Renting a property? Get contents cover to protect your belongings while they’re in your home or garden. You can now enjoy bike cover on us, too – get a contents or starter contents quote with bike cover by 9 August 2020 and take out the policy. We’ll credit the cost of bike cover back to you 90 days after your policy starts. T&Cs apply1.

Do you need contents insurance as a tenant?

If you rent your home, you don’t need to worry about insuring the building or its fixtures – that’s usually your landlord’s responsibility. But it’s a good idea to make sure that anything you own is covered against theft and vandalism, as well as fire or water damage. You can also add cover to protect against things you might damage accidentally.
