Contact us immediately if you think you’ve been a victim of fraud on your Barclays account or card and we’ll do everything we can to help.

And if you’re unsure whether a phone number is actually for the Barclays Fraud Team, use our telephone number checker . Always remember, the bank and the Police will never call you and ask for your PIN, passwords or PINsentry codes and they’ll never ask you to hand over cash, buy high value items or transfer funds to a new account.

Action fraud

If you think you you’ve been a victim of a scam or fraud other than on your bank account or cards, report it immediately to Action Fraud, by calling 0300 123 2040 or online . If you’ve been a victim of investment scam, you should also report it to the Financial Conduct Authority on 0800 111 6768 or online .

CIFAS

If you think you’ve fallen victim to fraud or think you’re at risk of identity theft, take a look at CIFAS Protective Registration offered by the UK fraud prevention service CIFAS. It flags your personal file so that when CIFAS member companies, like Barclays, receive an application in your name, they’ll carry out extra checks to ensure the application is genuine.

Police

If your debit card, credit card or cheque-book has been stolen, report it to your local police station. However, the police will only accept reports of fraud from banks. The UK Police Service has links to local services throughout the UK.
