Learn all you need for your greener home journey

You’ll have to submit your claim form by 31 July 2024 and provide proof of the work completed. We’ll then email you to let you know if your claim has been accepted. If your claim is accepted, we’ll pay the reward into the same bank account your mortgage Direct Debit is paid from. The payment will arrive within 30 days.
-
To be eligible for the reward, you must have a current Barclays residential mortgage. Apart from this, there’s no link between your mortgage and the Greener Home Reward.
Claiming the Greener Home Reward and making home improvements doesn’t mean you’ll qualify for a Barclays Green Home Mortgage now, or in the future.

There are three reward levels (£500, £1000 or £2000) – which one you receive depends on the type of home improvements completed. Please see the terms and conditions for more information.

You can only receive one reward, regardless of how many home improvements you make. If you have a joint mortgage, you can only receive one reward between all of you.

-
Yes, the cost of the home improvement work must be equal to or more than the value of the relevant home improvement reward. No reward will be paid if the costs of the home improvement work is not equal to or more than the value of the relevant home improvement reward.
-
You can only receive one reward. If you are a customer on a joint mortgage, then you can only receive one reward as joint customers. The home improvements must be made to the residential property where you permanently live, and which is security for your mortgage. You can’t claim for improvements made to additional properties like holiday homes or buy-to-let properties.
-
We can’t provide advice on making home improvements. However, if you’re unsure what home improvements to make, you can read the information available on our Greener Homes webpages, which have helpful material and could provide further information1.
We recommend speaking to a range of TrustMark-registered businesses or tradespeople to find out more about the products they offer, where they come from, what work is involved, the cost and what savings you could expect. They may be able to help you choose the right home improvements. Make sure you do your own research and are happy with your decision before agreeing to go ahead with any work.
-
There’s no guarantee that a home improvement made under the Greener Home Reward will improve your property’s EPC rating. Your TrustMark-registered tradesperson will need to log the home improvements on the TrustMark data warehouse. This data can be used by your energy rating provider to assess whether you qualify for an updated EPC rating.
-
By following TrustMark's customer charter and code of conduct, registered businesses and tradespeople commit to providing high standards of quality and a complaints handling service. If there’s a problem with the quality of the work, you should, in the first instance, raise the issue with the TrustMark-registered business or tradesperson you used. If that does not resolve the issue, you can escalate the issue with the tradesperson’s scheme with which the registered business or tradesperson is associated. If the issue isn’t resolved after taking this additional step, TrustMark will be able to assist you with access to the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman. Visit the TrustMark website for further information on the dispute resolution process.
You should always carry out your own checks to ensure the business you plan to use is suitable for your needs before agreeing to the work.
Barclays Bank UK PLC isn’t responsible for any work carried out under the Greener Home Reward.
-
TrustMark is the only government-endorsed quality scheme that covers the work consumers choose to have carried out in or around their home.
TrustMark-registered businesses and tradespeople are thoroughly vetted and regularly audited to ensure they meet required standards in technical competence, customer service and trading practices, so homeowners can be sure they’re making the right choice.
