Barclays Video Banking

We like to put a face to a name

Use Video Banking to open your child’s first bank account or begin saving for their future. It’s simple, secure and it’s all face to face.

What is Video Banking?

Video Banking lets you chat to us face to face from your phone or tablet, saving you a trip to a branch. It’s easy to use, completely secure and available Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and from 9am to 5pm on weekends. This service is closed on bank holidays.

You’ll need good Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G coverage1.

We’ll check your identity on the call before discussing your information – just like we would in person or on the phone.

What can I use it for?

You can use Video Banking to talk to us securely about opening a current or savings account for your child.

If you already bank with us and have our app, you can open a child’s account using Video Banking. You’ll need to be their parent or guardian.

Before your call

Make sure your child is with you for the call, and you have their original passport or birth certificate ready to show us.

We can only open one account during your appointment. If you’d like to open more, you’ll need to make an appointment for each one.

If you’d like to talk about something else, we’ll help you to get in touch in a different way.

Sometimes, we might need some more information from you – if that’s the case, we’ll let you know on the call.

How do I make a Video Banking appointment?
