How do I block payments to a certain type of retailer in my Barclays app?
To help control your spending, you can use your app1 to block debit card payments to specific types of merchants. These include gambling merchants, premium-rate websites and phone lines, restaurants, food outlets, pubs and bars, petrol and diesel companies, and groceries and supermarkets.
To manage the retailers you can make payments to, follow these steps
- Under ‘Quick links’ on your home screen, tap ‘Your cards’
- Select your debit card
- Tap ‘Merchant control’
- Select the categories you’d like to block
- Turn the merchant off or on using the toggle
