How do I find out why I’ve been turned down for credit?
If your credit score is too low, you’ll be turned down for credit or borrowing. If this happens, we can usually tell you the reason but we can’t give you the details.
If it’s because the credit-reference agencies we use – Experian, Equifax and TransUnion – have detrimental information registered against you, you can get this information by contacting them directly. Please provide them with your full name, date of birth and all addresses that you’ve lived at within the past 6 years. The charge is £2, which you can pay online or by cheque or postal order.
