How do I get an Online Banking membership number?

You’ll need to register for Online Banking to get a membership number. If you’ve already registered, you can get your membership number online by following the ‘Forgotten membership number?’ link on the log-in page

Registering for Online Banking depends on what type of account you have with us.

  • Personal

You can register online for Online Banking if you have an account that comes with a debit card and you’re 16 or over. For joint account holders, each person will have to register separately for security reasons.

You can also visit your local branch or call our Online Banking Helpdesk on 0345 600 2323*+ (outside the UK dial +44 247 684 2063*+).

Once registered, you’ll get a 12-digit membership number and a 5-digit passcode, which will arrive by post. These will enable you to access a limited online service – for the full service, you’ll need to upgrade to PINsentry.

  • Premier

You can register online for Premier Online Banking if you have a Barclays UK Premier current account and a debit card and you’re 16 or over. For joint account holders, each person will have to register separately for security reasons.

If you don't have a card, you can also visit your local branch or call our Online Banking Helpdesk on 0345 600 2323*+ (outside the UK dial +44 247 684 2063*+) .

Once registered, you’ll get a 12-digit membership number and a PINsentry card reader. Your card reader will arrive by post for security reasons. With your membership number you can access a limited online service. The full service will be available once you log in with PINsentry.
