How to make or change an appointment with us

You can change the date and time of your appointment in the Barclays app. Go to the help page and select 'My appointments'. 

You can also change your appointment online.

You’ll need your booking reference, which you can find in the booking confirmation email and text message.

Open an account

Current account

You can open a current account by applying in the Barclays app1 or Online Banking. 

In the app, visit the products page and select the current accounts icon. In Online Banking, search for ‘Barclays Bank Account’.

Savings accounts

If you already bank with us, you can open a savings account in the Barclays app1 or Online Banking. You need to be 18 or over to use the app. T&Cs apply.

If you’d like support with your online account application and you already bank with us, you can book a video appointment.

If you don’t bank with us, you can also book an appointment to visit us in person.

Children's accounts

You can book an appointment to open a child’s bank account if you’re their parent or guardian. You’ll need to have proof of the child’s identity, like their birth certificate or passport, with you during the appointment.

Childrens accounts:

  • BarclayPlus account – just right if you’re 11 to 15 years old
  • Young Person’s Account – for 16 or 17 year olds
  • Children’s Savings

If you already bank with us, you can book a Video Banking appointment online.

If you don’t bank with us, you’ll need to make an appointment to visit us in person. Please bring proof of your child’s identity, and proof of your identity and address, like a UK bank statement or utility bill. Check what ID you need.

Joint accounts

You can open most of our current accounts as a joint account online, or by making an appointment in a branch. Please bring two forms of identification with you if you're applying in a branch. Check what ID you need.

Switching a joint current account

You can make a video appointment to switch a joint current account. You and the other account holder will need to be together for the appointment.

Premier accounts

With a Premier Current Account, you can enjoy a range of benefits. You’ll receive an exclusive black debit card that lets you withdraw up to £1,000 daily from cash machines2.

You can upgrade your current account with us to Premier by booking an appointment.

There might be a time – now or in the future – where you or someone else needs help with managing money. There are many types of third-party access available, so it’s important to choose the right one.
