How do I change the name of my account?

  • Online Banking

    To change the name of an account, for example to tell the difference between a 'bills account' and a 'number 2 account', follow these instructions:

    1. Log in to Online Banking

    2. Select the edit button next to the name of your account

    3. Type how you want this account to be known in future

    If you're not already a member, register for Online Banking now.

    Any nicknames that you add in Online Banking won’t be visible in Barclays Mobile Banking.

    Please don't follow this process if you want to change your personal name with us. If you've got married, divorced or changed your name by deed poll, you can change your name on your accounts, bank cards and statements etc in branch or through the post.

  • Mobile Banking

    To change the name of an account, for example to tell the difference between a 'bills account' and a 'number 2 account', follow these instructions:

    1. Log in to Barclays Mobile Banking
    2. Tap on More at the bottom right of the home page
    3. Select Manage Accounts
    4. Select Nickname Accounts then follow the onscreen instructions
